The Community Pet Center (CPC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with an all-volunteer base. Through their programs, they are not only saving the lives of the animals who need their help but also building a better community by creating families with healthy happy pets as well as ensuring their safety and well- being.
The Community Pet Center’s Mission is to safeguard and promote the rescue and adoption of animals, provide education to the community about responsible pet ownership and reduce the pet overpopulation through our Spay and Neuter Program.
Some of the CPC’s accomplishments are:
- ·Spayed and neutered 14,519 kittens, cats, puppies and dogs from 2003-2021 with the aid of Animal Allies (located in Spartanburg, SC) and local veterinarians in Rutherford County.
- Fed 1,897 kittens, cats, puppies and dogs from January-June 2022 through our FREE Pet Food Pantry while providing 487 local families with additional pet supplies: blankets, toys, leashes and collars, cat litter, cat and dogs treats and pet beds, carriers and crates.
- Conducted 3 FREE Rabies and 2 Microchip Clinics at our office in May, June, and September with the support of Caroline Bullman, DVM and her staff at Tri-City Animal Clinic by vaccinating 348 kittens, cats, puppies and dogs and microchipping 103 pets.
- Pre-pandemic-visited 14 elementary, middle and high schools and Isothermal Community College in Rutherford County conducting our “Pet Education in the Classroom” program by teaching students, teachers and staff about responsible pet ownership and the commitments that owning a pet requires.... Program has resumed this year.
- Maintained a dedicated, energetic, generous and amazing volunteer base for nearly 25 years while serving the pet needs of Rutherford County.
