How to Help

Lil’s Thrift Shop gratefully accepts new and gently used household items, home decor, kitchenware, children's toys, games, DVDs/CDs, record albums, jewelry, and furniture. We are 100% reliant on the generosity of our donors. We also accept pet food and other pet supplies that are distributed to organizations we support within Rutherford County. 

• Large appliances – washers, dryers, refrigerators, stoves, etc.
• Bedding – mattresses, box springs, metal bed frames, bed pillows
• Sofa Sleepers
• Headboards/footboards unless they are part of a bedroom set
• Clothing, footwear
• Rugs larger than 5’X 7’
• Food (other than pet food, unopened)
• TV's other than working Flat Screen TV's
•  Computers, keyboards, monitors
•  Printers
•  Fax Machines
•  Phones/Answering Machines
•  Large Exercise Equipment
•  Anything dirty or having an odor or mildew  
•  Anything broken or missing pieces 

Financial donations are always welcome and easy to make via our Donate Now button on our home page. Additionally donations are gratefully accepted at our shop during business hours. Or you can mail a check to:

If you enjoy shopping at Lil’s, provide donations of goods and/or financial support, and believe in our mission to support animal welfare and abuse prevention programs in Rutherford County, perhaps now is the time for you to take that next step and become a volunteer! 

Lil’s is open four days a week, Wednesday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm. We are looking for volunteers to work a 3-hour shift one day a week.

There are several ways to volunteer, if you are interested. One, download the PDF volunteer application below, fill it out, and send it to Lilsthriftshop@gmail.com. Two, stop by Lil’s and pick up a volunteer application form, fill it out, and drop it off or mail it to the shop. Three, email us at Lilsthriftshop@gmail.com for more information. 

New volunteers are provided a 3-hour training, then paired with a seasoned mentor for hands-on experience, after which they have the option of selecting a volunteer day/shift that works for all. Don’t delay — just do it! We need you.
